Prayers to borrow

Prayer does not have to be eloquent. Read one slowly, out loud if you can, and make it your own.

Anxious
Lord, my thoughts are loud and my heart is tired. I hand You the things I cannot carry, and I ask for a quiet mind tonight.
Afraid
Father, fear has been sitting close to me. Come closer still. Steady my hands and remind me whose I am.
Grieving
God of comfort, I miss what I have lost. Stay with me in the ache, and hold what I cannot hold.
Lonely
Lord, loneliness is heavy today. Let me feel Your nearness, and send someone kind across my path.
Weary
Jesus, I am tired in a way sleep does not fix. Restore my soul, and teach me how to rest in You.
Hopeless
God, I have run out of my own hope. Give me Yours — enough for today, and a little for tomorrow.
Carrying guilt
Merciful Father, I bring what I would rather hide. Wash it, forgive me, and quiet the voice of shame.
Thankful
Thank You, Lord, for the mercies I almost walked past today. Teach me to notice them sooner.
